Dear friend.

I trust you are having a great month.

Did you know?
The colour of your fruits can tell you a lot about their nutritional value.

Like I usually say;

“You may not be able to judge a book by its COVER but you can judge a fruit by its COLOUR”

The wide array of bright colours that give fruits and vegetables their visual appeal also show the type of special plant nutrient (phytonutrients) present. The different colour groups include:

RED: Examples of fruits and vegetables in this group are Tomatoes , Watermelon, Guava and so on

PURPLE: They include Grapes, Eggplant, Berries (blackberries) and so on.

“You may not be able to judge a book by its COVER but you can judge a fruit by its COLOUR”

ORANGE: Examples are Carrot, Mango, Sweet potatoes, Yam, Apricot and so on.

YELLOW: Examples of this group of “phytofoods” are Oranges, Tangerines, Lemon, Limes, Pawpaw and Pineapples.

LIGHT GREEN: Examples are Spinach, Kale, Leeks and so on

GREEN: Examples are Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower and other cruciferous vegetables.

WHITE: onions and Garlic are good examples of white coloured phytonutrients

Each of the COLOUR GROUP has UNIQUE ROLES they play in our health. To get the maximum effect of eating raw fruits and vegetables, we have to combine all the classes listed above. Strive to cover the full rainbow spectrum of healthy food daily.

Even if you have to SHOP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE, in the long run you will enjoy COMFORT IN YOUR HEALTH.

I vaLUE yoU!
